My Car Flew Upwards Unexpectantly...

... then it fell back down and jerked around frighteningly in different directions. It was the most unpleasant dream I'd ever had, and the next day, I could barely function.

It was the night after I went to the hospital for a panic attack, and the doctor gave me a prescription for Xanax; an anti-anxiety medication which is used to decrease abnormal excitement in the brain...

decrease excitement eh?

That definitely wasn't the kind of help I was looking for when I decided to take the ambulance ride to the hospital that day back in 2013.

This was a turning point in my life, when I had just begun learning that there were much healthier ways to manage challenging emotions.

Mood altering medications is just one of the many fascinating topics currently being covered in the ELAN Healing Wellness Education program at Graceful Health in Newcastle, CA.

For my practice, I'm creating a collection of informational brochures based on what I've learned. They contain nuggets of information that I think are important for people to know.

One of my newest additions is about the mood altering medications called SSRI's; short for Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor. Examples are Prozac, Celexa, and Zoloft. We learned about the benefits and challenges of these types of medications.

Check it out in my website store, and let me know what you think. PDF versions of the brochures are complimentary.

For those who are interested in learning more, did you know you're invited to sit in on a class? They happen twice per month; one Tuesday evening and one Saturday afternoon.
