..and terrible in the long run!
A little kid is learning to ride a bike, and takes a painful fall. It really hurts, but he doesn’t want to disappoint his Dad, so he STUFFS it; meaning the body actually takes action to protect the brain from trauma, and stores it in the body for later processing.
In the healing world, we call this process somatization. (Soma is latin for body.) As time goes on, many more ‘traumas’ large and small get stored in the body. This tension uses up vital life energy and causes defensive posture (think of a dog with its tail tucked under), which leads to chronic stress and dis-ease.
In my monthly health talk I talked more about this vicious cycle and what you can do about it. The Zoom recording is now available on my YouTube Channel!
