Honoring Plántate's Legacy

Writer: Jenny HughesJenny Hughes

Dear Friends,

It's been a little while since I've written, and I hope you're doing well and staying strong in what seem to be very energetically turbulent times.

Last month, my family experienced the heart-wrenching passing of my lovely sister-in-law, Plántate.

We flew to San Pancho Mexico, where my brother and his family live, and were immersed in the most incredible community they have there. Though everyone was clearly heart-broken by the loss, there was so much Love, and celebration, and music!

Her Celebration of Life on the beach was beautiful and attended by hundreds of people. The ceremony was concluded at sunset with everyone tossing flowers and seeds into the ocean.

She was one of the founders of the EntreAmigos Community Center in San Pancho Mexico, and beloved by so many!!

It really surprised no one when 2 rogue waves came out of no where and soaked the lot of us from head to toe! She was (is) a force that had (has) an impact on so many lives!

My mind cannot process how this could have happened. A healer and community leader with so much impact being taken out by cancer. We all thought she would beat it.

Right up until the shocking news of her passing came, we were waiting for the miraculous turn around.

Upon my return, I came down with the most wicked stomach flu I've ever experienced, and 3 weeks later I'm still trying to find my digestive footing.

Perhaps it's a form of grief.

I'm doing my best to stay curious, and turning to my spiritual studies for inspiration in a world that just doesn't make sense to me.

Synchronicities surround me, as "A Course In Miracles" (ACIM) attempts to teach me the truth about illness, and the "Conversations with God" audiobook addresses death.

The timing is miraculous and inspirational.

In this time of sadness and feeling contracted, I'm so grateful for my community and the teachers that have come into my life.

May you and yours be blessed with as much Love and inspiration. See below for ideas of where to find light in the darkness.

Most mornings, I watch my ACIM lesson for the day, presented by Marianne Williamson, who teaches the concepts beautifully in short daily lessons.

In the audiobook version of "Conversations With God" by Neale Donald Walsch, I'm enjoying the stories and concepts being brought to life by the recorded readings by the author, Ed Asner, and Ellen Burstyn.

Gaia channel has a fascinating, 3 part show that explores real stories and the science around Near Death Experinces (NDE). One of the stories comes from a neurosurgeon who experienced his own NDE, and how it changed his life and beliefs.

P.S. With the help of Dr. Danni Ballere, I recovered my gut health a few weeks after this newsletter went out. I highly recommend seeing a naturopathic doctor!
